Thanks for the great information, everyone. Got the check dipped beam message. Have an '04 Cayenne and after switching out headlight on L side the low beam would still not work. We have an electrical connection tester at home and all circuits were working. The old bulb was definitely burned out. It had the message "Bulb failure dipped beam" This would cause the low beam lights to stop working for a period of time then they would come back on for no apparent reason. Took it to a reputable Volvo specialist and $1,000 later and with the problem seemingly fixed the next day the same message was back a lights not working again!!
