Valmet provides services for all the above-mentioned products. Metso will resurrect the Valmet name to be the parent company as it splits off its pulp, paper and power businesses from its mining, construction and automation units. Metso’s Board has approved a demerger plan to divide the operations into two companies: Metso Corporation and Valmet Corporation. Metso was created on 1 July 1999 through the merger of Valmet, a paper and board machine supplier, and Rauma, which focused on fiber technology, rock crushing and flow control solutions.
